A DYNASTY MOVING UP

Champs again! The BHS Divsion II hockey team rolls over the competition resulting in a 3-1 win and another State Championship. Their win this year tacks onto a developing dynasty making it 3 consecutive title wins in DII.
But is that enough for the Bulldogs?
It doesn’t seem like it. Bedford is moving into Division I next year.
But are they ready?
The Hockey team is losing the majority of the starting varsity team. A total of 14 seniors are graduating this year, leaving a lot of open spots on their team next year.
Though there are many open spots that need to be filled, the current Varsity players on average have had 2 years of experience of play in Divsion II. This experience will more than likely help them develop the younger player who have only played on JV.
However, what people don’t know is how good BHS’s JV hockey team is. They went undefeated this year and they show great potential to play at the next level. The upcoming classes that are replacing the graduating seniors, play on these JV teams. When they go undefeated it shows the great talent and strength that a program has coming up.
Brett Silva, Junior defenseman comments, “It's a great feeling to win a state championship regardless, but for it to be the school's 3rd straight hockey title is even better knowing that we made history”.
They have made history, winning 3 in a row has never been done before in Division II. Silva also expressed his feelings on moving up to Division I. “I'm very excited to move up to division one next year, I know that it is something a lot of our alumni wish they could've experienced. I'm very fortunate to at least be able to play one season in the top division”.
The hockey team will do wonders in Division I. Judging by the strength of their upcoming JV team and the remainder of their current Varsity team, they will be a dominate force next year and in years to come.
