Letters from the newest editors!
Dear Bulldogs,
I am Erin Eldridge, rising Junior and your newest Co Editor in Chief of BHS Unleashed along with my brilliant comrade, Emily Lawrence. We’ve got seriously explosive plans for the next two years that will break the previously conceived boundaries of the humble school newspaper and expand into every niche of BHS. The days of wondering when the next issue will be released and where you will be able to to find it are through. You’ll begin following BHS Unleashed more closely than you do the Kardashians. You’ll hear about every ground-breaking article, read each one online, tweet about it religiously, contribute to it and be proud of it. We’ll be like Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, planting BHS Unleashed into your dreams.
Because we lack the tools to properly disperse the newspaper through inception, Emily and I have a few different strategies for making sure Unleashed reaches you. I’ll be working specifically to develop a more comprehensive digital presence for Unleashed, creating a more easily updated, accessible medium for you to keep up with school news. We’re currently looking for technologically inclined students to design a new website and corresponding app to bring the newspaper to the pockets of students and staff. This way we will be able to make Unleashed more interactive: student polls, freshly updated sports scores, pictures, alerts, advice, and so much more will be constantly at your finger tips.
Emily and I are beyond jazzed to be working on this project and are actively seeking excited students to be a part of the revolution of this timeless school tradition!
Hello all!
My name is Emily and as a rising junior I cannot wait to be the next Co Editor in Chief of the BHS Unleashed newspaper with Erin!
As our new staff is settling in, many discussions have come up as to how we can work together to grow the paper to become more involved with the student population at Bedford. First and foremost, I hope to greatly increase the number of writers, artists, photographers, and contributors that collectively produce the paper. With a larger staff, we will be able to branch out from the traditions of Unleashed. There are so many reasons to join! Whether it be for the experience, the wish to see your work published, or just for the breakfasts (which will occur much more often next year, I promise) we would love to have you!
Not hooked yet? Boundless hours are in your grasp. Unleashed offers opportunities for school activity hours, as we are an official club, but also community service hours if you join us for events such as the BHS Unleashed team for Relay for Life! Democracy in Action hours are also up for grabs; hopefully students will be able to manage and participate in polls around the school to gather data in all different areas of thought next year.
Unleashed is an active and flexible forum for all new ideas. Whether you would be interested in contributing to every issue, or you would feel more comfortable submitting work less frequently for our website, the opportunities are endless- we’d love to have you join.
