schedule changes

From the the new schedule and the new Add/Drop policy, coming to school on the first day was crazy. The entire community, both teachers and students, were faced with many changes to the school. This year, not only was the student body different, with the new group of underclassmen joining, the schedule has changed drastically, too.
One of the many questions I was able to ask both students and teachers, was how both groups felt about the new schedule. A large portion preferred this years' schedule when compared to the multiple changes that had been made last year.
"I think it's great for Senior Project." Mrs. Dreyer spoke positively towards the new schedule. "It has been different each year that I taught at BHS and I think there are plus and minus points for each year.
Another source, an upperclassmen, agreed. "It's better than last year's [schedule]. I have less class time, and it's easier to remember what time I need to be in class. I think that the new schedule change is more flexible. This year my schedule is not as hectic and it makes my day easier."
Another question I asked the students pertained to the their schedules and how the students were each, individually, affected by the newest Add/Drop Policy our school created for the beginning of this year.
"Mine, personally, is much easier to manage, and I finally have classes that I want to take as opposed to the classes I had to take." Christina Leclerc told Unleashed. "I'm really glad they kept that add/drop interim period because my schedule would've been overwhelming without the changes I made."
"I favor the add/drop policy, it has helped me a lot, personally. Changing my courses based on my growing needs and curiosity provided a lot of freedom for not only myself but the new and coming students. It helps to decide what we really want to do and experiment with our interests." Another upperclassmen added, agreeing to Christina's statement. "It provides more opportunities...before deciding to stay or leave [the class]."
With new school years, come new changes and the inevitability to adapt to them. With the school changing, students must follow order and learn to adapt their schedules based on the new policy. As the year goes on, there is little doubt that everyone will grow accustomed to the new system.
